Immigration

If I came to power then I would introduce new laws that would mean it was a lot harder for people to immigrate. Every person that is not British born will need to go through a challenging test to see if the person is able to stay. For all new people coming to this country must have a skill to offer to the country.

Environment

I will be introducing free energy meters to every home by 2013 so people can control the amount of energy they use helping us to cut down on our emissions by around. 50%. Factories that produce lots of c02 will be forced to downsize.

Crime

We will be increasing the amount of police on the streets of England hopefully by the year 2012 there will be 1 police car every 30 civilian cars. UKIP will ensure the British people have a government with the will to punish those who threaten and harm them. We believe victims' rights are more important than the rights and comforts of criminals. It is time to implement forthright law and order policies and to adopt zero tolerance on crime.

Health

We will be injecting a large amount of money into the NHS to help find new cures to things like cancer and other illnesses. The broad aims of the UKIP Health Policy are to deliver better care and safeguard the NHS. The Party believes strongly in the principles of the NHS, which should continue to deliver care free at the point of delivery on the basis of need, not ability to pay. However, UKIP believes NHS management is bureaucratic and wasteful, and that major reform is vital to retain and improve NHS healthcare services.

Young people

We will be making lots of new “hang outs” for young people to keep teenagers off the streets. We will also be making more youth clubs that will be open from 7am to 11pm every day.

Defence

Over the years, successive governments have starved the British armed forces of money. This has meant insufficient equipment, overstretched resources and excessive tours of duty, which can badly damage the fabric of family life. UKIP has huge regard for our Armed Forces and the work they do. We are prepared to provide proper defence resources and bring an end to devastating cuts.

Education

UKIP believes it is the responsibility of the State to ensure a quality education is provided for all - regardless of income, age, aptitudes or ability. UKIP recognises that state education simply isn't working, with falling standards, watered down exams, undermining of merit, shortages of skills and devaluation of graduate qualifications

Our Take On Asbo's

The ASBO or 'Anti-Social Behaviour Order' had been hailed as the solution to much of the inappropriate and anti-social behaviour in our communities today.

There is so much written on the ASBO procedure within so much detail, we are not going to try and outdo or reinvent the wheel. If you're looking for a step-by-step, in depth analysis of ASBO use from start to finish, this won't give you that either. If you're looking for an ASBO overview and some independent viewpoints, then this is for you.
We will though however, try and explain in clear and simple terms what an ASBO is and the basics of when an ASBO can be applied for. Hopefully this springboard will give you the basis of where to go next.
ASBO's can give you up to 5 years in prison or young offenders institute for young people or one big fine if they are broken. A person or community experiencing anti-social behaviour can ask their local authority to deal with the problem. It makes no difference if you are a local authority tenant or if you own your own home. ASBO's can only be used against an individual over the age of 10 and must be used in a framework of partnership with all relevant agencies. I think the age should be reduced because people under 10 are just as naughty.

CONSERVATIVE PLEDGES

Introduction

T
he 2010 general election is time for Britain to speak up, to invoke a change that will take our country back to prosperity, and back to where it should always have been. 13 years of Labour have resulted in a battered economy, declining standards in education, and a broken society.
This simply cannot go on.
But together, we can make a change for the better; a change that you can believe in.
We admit that it will not be easy, that is the extent of Labour’s failure to all of us. We will inherit the worst set of economic statistics of any government since before the Second World War, we will be forced to deal with a massive budget deficit, and problems which have become so deeply engrained into our society. But with the strength of our economic team and our undying faith in what we can achieve as a nation, we promise to deliver a stronger, fairer, better Britain.
As Leader of the Conservative party, you have my promise that, should we be elected, we will implement the entire contents of the strategies outlined in this manifesto, and together we will re-build our great nation.

Karl McLean,
Conservative Party Leader

ECONOMY

T
he extent of our budget deficit is so great that we must cut spending as soon as possible. Coming out of recession, removing areas of unnecessary spending will be highly beneficial towards helping our recovery. And the real positive our economic strategy is that these cuts in spending will not affect the quality of our frontline services. So, in the remaining 6 months of the calendar year, we will cut £6 billion of unnecessary government spending in the following ways:
Reduce child tax and benefits for households earning over £50,000 a year. We are aware that we cannot fully remove these things, but we simply cannot afford to give benefits to high earners.
Grant control over all banks to The Bank of England, meaning that a reduction of bank bonuses, which were ridiculously high for a number of years under Labour, will save a substantial amount of money and can be controlled by the government. Furthermore, management of banks will become a lot stricter to ensure that we never get into an economic crisis again.
Hold a review to bring forward the 2026 date at which the state pension age starts to rise to 66 to no earlier than 2016 for men and 2020 for women. It is estimated the increase in age for both men and women will save £13 billion a year.
Cut government input into Child Trust Funds in all but the poorest 30% of families and families with disabled children for at least 5 years.
Cut the pay for Minister’s by 15% and reduce the number of MPs on wages of over £50,000 per year.
Increase technological trade with other countries. We have a massive pool of young, innovative scientists whose work would increase trade links particularly in the West, and would help establish a more sustainable economy. We will ensure this by raising focus on science, technology, and mathematics within schools and by funding schools to become specialist colleges in these areas.
Offer more help to households to manage their debt.
Removing welfare benefits to those who are fully able but refuse to work, ensuring a decrease in welfare dependency.
These cuts in spending will allow us to inject money into the NHS each year, and reduce inheritance tax on estates under £500,000, as well as giving us the balanced, dynamic economy we so desperately need.

EDUCATION

A
s mentioned previously, we want to ensure that more schools become specialised in certain subjects to ensure that our country is always producing young people who are very talented and will help with our continuing development in different subject areas. Additionally, we want to increase discipline in schools to reduce violent altercations between teachers and students, and help towards solving some of society’s problems. We will do this by lowering the number of issues of bad behaviour needed for a head teacher to expel a student, and by removing the 24 hours of notice given prior to an after-school detention. We also aim to reduce the bureaucracy in our schools and give teachers more freedom over what should be taught in the classroom. Finally, we want to give parents more choice with regards to which schools their children attend, especially parents of disabled children.

CRIME AND JUSTICE

A
nother area where we feel bureaucracy needs to be reduced is in our justice system, where paper-work seems to dominate our police force. This once again ties in with the increase in discipline we are proposing as part of our social reformations, and we will make sentences harsher on multiple-time offenders. Our big aim is to prevent the young offenders of today from becoming the criminals of the future, and we aim to do this by increasing the education students have as to the consequences of getting involved in criminal behaviour, and by re-evaluating the ASBO so that it actually means something to youngsters.

ENVIRONMENT

I
f we are elected, we will appoint a Minister for Climate Change and the Environment to monitor how the world develops to combat global warming. We aim to install energy-efficiency standards in all household appliances, and pledge to heavily tax high-polluters in order to see our contribution to climate change go down. Furthermore, we will cut down our country’s carbon emissions by 20% over the next 5 years. As part of our enrichment scheme for science and technology, we will always have a large number of scientists working on producing cutting-edge technology to help us become greener, and by increasing our technological links with other countries we will all be able to work together as a global community to combat climate change. Finally, we aim to give all renewable energy sources a thorough examination, before our Climate Change Committee publishes a report on which of these sources of energy we will use to save our environment.

HEALTH

T
he quality of health care in our country has always been something that could be improved, whether it be by a Labour government or a Conservative government. We propose to:
Increase spending on the NHS every year.
Give families the right to choose their GPs.
Make sure the NHS focuses on things that matter to patients.
Cut the cost of NHS bureaucracy by a third.
Make sure you have access to your GP in your area from 8am to 8pm seven days a week.

Provide more single rooms in the NHS.

Provide an NHS dentist for a million more people and free dental checks for all five year olds.

Introduce a voluntary insurance scheme so that people are no longer forced to sell their homes if they need residential care.

(Above policies on Health drafted by Conservative Candidate Aidan McGuire)

DEFENCE

S
ince the start of the 21st century, and the tragedies of 9/11 and the 2005 London bombings, management of defence has become a major issue for our governments, and we propose the following to ensure our country remains safe and prosperous:
Introduce a system of regular defence reviews, where the latest developments in this area are fed to the Head of MI6 and the government Secretary for Defence.
Replace trident subject to review and maintain the UK’s independent submarine-based nuclear deterrent.
Ensure that NATO, not the EU, remains the cornerstone of our nation’s defence.
Double the operational bonus for troops serving in Afghanistan to reward the importance of their service.
Maximise troops’ rest and recuperation time, making sure all serving officers are fully fit and prepared.

(Above policies on Defence drafted and compiled by John Welsh)

IMMIGRATION

We will introduce an annual limit on the number of non-EU economic migrants allowed to work here.
We will crack down on illegal migration by creating a dedicated border police force to crack down on illegal immigration and people trafficking.
We will introduce new rules to tighten up the student visa system, which is the biggest hole in our border control.
We will promote integration into British society. There will be an English language test to anyone coming here from outside the EU to get married.
A conservative government would also apply transitional controls as a matter of course for all future EU entrants.

A.S.B.O's apparent lies

firtly get it right it is iA.S.B.O. of youth
secondly we have proof of the destroyed and ripped campaign material.
thirdly we have no reason to lie we are not a party wanting to get votes nor do we want to make trouble for them we just ask for you to read our manifesto and those who agree or comprimise on it we have more chance of voting for, we dont want to get into fights but if you attack us then we have to defend ourselves.

a word from the environmentalists

The amount of posters and campaign material being ripped down or vandalised is unacceptable. You do realise how many trees you are killing right?

In Reply To Labour

Our policies are perfectly fair. If you lower the drinking age, there will be less crime as less young people will be shoplifting and breaking the law to get their alcohol. Also, if you had been more interested in the needs of your next generation of voters and not just your biased opinions, you would know we also want to significantly increase awareness meetings and help for those affected by alcohol.
You need the Youth, so alienating them is not a good move.

Vicky Reed strikes again! (Slacker)

You NEED The Youth!

There has been rumours of protest against the way iA.S.B.O of Youth has reacted to certain parties' policies. But why should you, the party leaders, take our requests into consideration?
When all of your traditional voters who are too set in their ways to vote for others are dead and gone, who will be voting for you?
The youth.
If you want to have any chance of staying in power, we strongly recommend that you closely read our manifesto, and seriously take into consideration putting our proposals into action.

If you don't cater to the youth's wishes, there will be noone left to vote for you.

A.S.B.O attack the Labour Party!

A.S.B.O member Bradley Ringrose thows paper ball in the face of labour leader Craig Allan, apart from two of their polices are completely outlandish. How can reducing the drnking age benefit the country? We are blaming the majority of the troubles on Martyn Steel and Kirsty Falcus.

Health Pressure Group

Main Issues
They want money spent on front line services.
Administration costs cut.
Health targets reduced.
Single phone line for every type of urgent care.

Parties
The Health pressure group want parties to attempt to improve things, and want their ideas spoken about in the manifesto.

Will they listen?
The health pressure group are a credible party and their ideas and views should be taken into account when making laws and changing policies. They care about the health of the British citizens and want to improve it for the good of everyone.

Why?
The NHS is a fundamental part of Britain and the peoples health is incredibly important. The NHS is starting to go down hill and needs help from the government to fund medical requirements and employ better qualified staff. With this they have agreed to make job cuts on the jobs that aren’t as important.
This are the requests from Enviroment party if you lost the leaflet. =D

We want A cut of carbon emissions by 35% in 2025 and a 60%cut by 2050.
We want a reduction of deforestation all around the world by 20% by 2025 and a cut of 50% by 2050.
We want to introduce more environmental friendly energy such as wind power, solar power and hydro electricity power. There should be a 15% rise in all these energy sources.
We want 250,000 green jobs introduced by 2020

Immigration

Our policies for immigration are

· To control immigration levels by increasing border security.
· To locate all illegal immigrants and give them the opportunity to go through the citizenship process to become a British citizen.
· We also believe that in order to work for British organisations and companies within England employees must be legal citizens, and therefore the appropriate training will also be provided.
· We also want to enforce the Australian point system for immigration.

Tax and Economy

Our policies for tax and economy are

We believe that people under the age of 18 should no longer be taxed for national insurance unless they go into full time employment after school at 16.
We would keep the income tax at the same rate because it provides 29% for all the money made through government tax. You can currently earn £4,754 tax free; however we would want to increase this number to £5000 before becoming taxed. This means you can earn more before you are taxed.
We want to cut taxes to become 30% of the economy, which means people will have to pay less on tax.

Caring for the elderly

Our policies for the elderly are

Restore the link between the state pension and earnings by 2012 and increase pension credit in line with earnings.
Continue to give older people Winter Fuel Payments, concessionary public-transport fares, free eye tests prescriptions, free TV licences for the over-70s
Give older people the right to request flexible working, if they wish to look after grandchildren

Health

Our policies for the health are

In order to promote healthy living we want more advertisements for healthy food and fitness on the internet and T.V
Make people more aware of diseases that can kill and suggest ways that people can prevent obtaining them.
Have a limit on how many drugs people can buy, unless the person has a prescription.

Crime

Guarantee an initial response to any complaint about anti social behaviour within 24 hours and give complainers a named case worker who will report back on progress.
Annual fitness tests for police officers.
Give local people a vote on what community service offenders should do.

Education and Young People

Replace National Curriculum with a Minimum Curriculum Entitlement to allow teachers more flexibility.
Scrap university tuition fees over six years.
Expand apprenticeships by up to 70,000 a year.
Create education standards authorities to monitor the school standards throughout the country

Environment

To produce more hydropower turbines and put them in big rivers and seas to make energy that will do small amounts of damage to the environment, thus creating more jobs available for our citizens.
To introduce the hydro-powered car so hardly any pollution will be released in to the atmosphere. In doing this, we must also introduce hydro stations in petrol stations.
To invest more money in nature reserves.

Welcome to the very first CSI News blog. Today we bring to you our interview with the conservative party leader Conor Sproat.

Our CSI news interviewers for this meeting were Sophie Jobson and Victoria Cartmel.

Sophie: Will the economy be uncertain again by the middle of 2010 or will it be strong enough to survive?

Conor: Well we plan on reducing taxes but using the money to fund help for small businesses, education and help for the elderly.

Victoria: How do you plan to cut the conomic deficit and get britain out of debt?

Conor: To start with we plan to cut funding for students in higher education. But apart from that we will cut where the public want cutting, as long as its responsible.

Sophie: So, what are your policies on immigration?

Conor: We have to be tough on immigration, we are going to tighten border controls and give border agencies more power to arrest and refuse entry. Also we plan to intorduce a scheme that only alows migrants into certain area if they have the skills required to fill job vaccencies in those areas.

Sophie: What about the NHS what are your plans for that area?

Conor: Well we plan to increase sependding in frontline NHS services but not in administrative staff. Also we want everyone to have acces to a GP from 8-8 and have cancer patients see a specialist within two weeks.

Victoria: Thats everthing thank you.

Conor: Goodbye

The leader of the conservative party seemed to be very confident in his party and policies. But after looking through their manifesto, it seems all their policies are very simmilar to those of the pressure groups. After doing some digging I discovered this to be true, most of the tory's policies originate form trhe pressure groups. Is this a sign of weak leadership? We will keep you informed in our next blog.

LABOUR'S VIOLENCE TO YOUTH

How many of you want to be led by a party that resorts to violence and destruction when faced with opposition?
Would violence run through the country?
The once-trustworthy Labour party, led by the notorious Craig Allan, acted in exactly this way. Upon discovering that our pressure group opposed their manifesto, the so-called dedicated party leader attacked iA.S.B.O of Youth's leader, and shortly after destroyed a piece of campaign material. This is not the type of person we want leading the country!
Say no to labour and stop the violence!
