Welcome to the very first CSI News blog. Today we bring to you our interview with the conservative party leader Conor Sproat.

Our CSI news interviewers for this meeting were Sophie Jobson and Victoria Cartmel.

Sophie: Will the economy be uncertain again by the middle of 2010 or will it be strong enough to survive?

Conor: Well we plan on reducing taxes but using the money to fund help for small businesses, education and help for the elderly.

Victoria: How do you plan to cut the conomic deficit and get britain out of debt?

Conor: To start with we plan to cut funding for students in higher education. But apart from that we will cut where the public want cutting, as long as its responsible.

Sophie: So, what are your policies on immigration?

Conor: We have to be tough on immigration, we are going to tighten border controls and give border agencies more power to arrest and refuse entry. Also we plan to intorduce a scheme that only alows migrants into certain area if they have the skills required to fill job vaccencies in those areas.

Sophie: What about the NHS what are your plans for that area?

Conor: Well we plan to increase sependding in frontline NHS services but not in administrative staff. Also we want everyone to have acces to a GP from 8-8 and have cancer patients see a specialist within two weeks.

Victoria: Thats everthing thank you.

Conor: Goodbye

The leader of the conservative party seemed to be very confident in his party and policies. But after looking through their manifesto, it seems all their policies are very simmilar to those of the pressure groups. After doing some digging I discovered this to be true, most of the tory's policies originate form trhe pressure groups. Is this a sign of weak leadership? We will keep you informed in our next blog.
